I forgot that the potatoes were a potato salad and not mashed potatoes, which surprised me at first. Horseradish in potato salad is such a great idea for a pairing with beef.

The smoked ham hocks were so pink (from smoke) that my table-mates thought it was raw.

It’s been a while since I’ve had boudin and I really enjoyed their version. The pickled watermelon rind was unexpected and wonderful.

I’m a sucker for drinks with rye and/or flavored simple syrup.
Lunch special #3 at Adams Catfish in Belle Chase, LA. Catfish, hush puppy, and fries (I subbed cole slaw). Just perfect with Louisiana hot sauce.
